08 / SALES MONITORING

Spreadsheet Monitoring Hub

A simpler way for business owners to monitor sales and find the right spreadsheet.

Confidential project · Client identity and operational data remain private. The public demo is a separate reconstruction with fictional records, rather than access to the client application.

THE CONTEXT

What the work connects.

A business owner may need several spreadsheets to answer a simple question about sales, profit, or unpaid invoices. Finding the right file is part of the work, before the review can even begin.

My contribution
I built a web dashboard that organizes spreadsheet links into workspaces and brings sales information into a shared starting point. It presents summaries, charts, receivables, supplier payables, and recent invoice information.

HOW IT WORKS

From one step to the next.

  1. 01

    Invoice records

    Sales, costs, and payment information

  2. 02

    Prepared sales data

    Consistent fields for the summary

  3. 03

    Monthly summary

    Sales, gross profit, and balances

  4. 04

    Owner dashboard

Trends and links to the right workspace

Google Sheets remains the source of information. The web layer reads and presents it, with update timestamps and notices when a source is unavailable. Sales and collections stay distinct so issued invoices are not mistaken for cash received.

Trace the overview back to its records.

Invoice records are prepared into consistent rows before being grouped by period. Sales and cost figures produce gross profit, while recorded payments and remaining balances describe collections and receivables. Keeping these measures separate makes the overview easier to interpret.

  1. 01

    Invoice records

    Sales, costs, and recorded payments

  2. 02

    Prepared rows

    Consistent fields for period filters

  3. 03

    Monthly summary

Sales, gross profit, cash, and balances

  4. 04

    Owner’s overview

A readable view with traceable sources

THE RESULT

A working path through the task.

Owners can start with the overview and move to the underlying workspace when more detail is needed. The separate demo uses synthetic invoices and supplier bills to show period filters, outstanding balances, and the path from spreadsheet rows to dashboard figures.
